Bio: An Elezen of mixed origins and one of a quartet of Warriors of Light. Talaani can be said to be the brains/common sense of the quartet, though that's not saying much for this group of schmucks (affectionate). Her natural attunement to lightning and lithe attacks have led to her being called "Levin Stepper". She enjoys regaling friends and passersby with tales of her youth and odd happenstance that has happened to herself and the other WoLs.
Now that the Final Days have been averted, Talaani has been focusing on mentoring the next generation of Red Mages and branching out into new martial and magical practices.Personality: Sassy, flirtacious, caring, confident, competitive, eloquent, thrill-seekingBackstory: Talaani Baharat was born in Ala Mhigo in the year 1547, only a year after Theodred would take the throne. Her father, Kataan Baharat, was one of the founding members of the Crimson Duelists and a descendent of the Elezen who brought ishgardian sword forms to the budding Red Mages of Gyr Abania. Her mother, Skari Dawnwalker, was Gridanian born huntress who did mercenary work that would take her all over Eorzea and eventually joining the Gods' Quiver.
Her family lived somewhat happily until after Talaani's 9th birthday when civil war began to break out in Ala Mhigo. Kataan was cut down in front of his daughter by Lambard in the Crimson Duelists betrayal; his last words were to X'rhun to take Talaani and get his family out of Gyr Abania and to Talaani to stay strong and to remember all he taught her.
The rest of her childhood was mostly uneventful, safely living in the East Shroud and being taught her mother's profession of hunting and skinning. It was in the year of her 23rd summer that the Fall of Dalamud would trigger the Echo in Talaani and her family would be thrown into disarray. Her mother, who was at Carteneau during the Fall, lost her right arm and feeling in their left leg, forcing her into an early retirement and for Talaani and her brothers, Vaeron and Blithe, to step up and earn gil for physical therapy and a prototype prosthetic arm.
Eventually, Talaani would be pulled into the fate of Eorzea and discovering her Echo and Blessing of Light alongside her fellow Warriors of Light.
Talaani has an underlying scent of ozone no matter what perfume she wears. Her usual perfume is Jasmine, Cedar, Tea leaves, and Sandalwood
Her aether color trends toward indigo and tends to spark even when the spell isn't related to Levin or Lightning
Her natural attunement to Levin leads to Talaani having to be careful with her Red Magick and making sure it stays in balance
Talaani finds peace in storms. Umbral Static is her favorite weather phenomenon. When she has to sift through her emotions, she'll hop on the back of her Rose Lanner and take to stormy skies, flying amongst the storm clouds
Talaani's Echo manifested as an ability to see where the veil between the Source and the Void is thinnest, alongside where tears can and will form
Her Echo is the reason she takes up a voidsent pact and becomes a reaper. She specifically targets other voidsent and lets her avatar sup upon them as well as the usual aether upkeep needed in such a pact
Her canon Disciple of Hand/Land jobs are BTN, CUL, LTW, CRP, and WVR
If Talaani was designed for a fighting game her archetype would be Stance/Zoner/Rushdown.
Talaani's voice claim is Amber Lee Connors while her singing voice claim is Emilee Petersmark from The Crane Wives (Curses would be the best example)
Talaani is the oldest child with two younger brothers. Vaeron, the middle child, is a member of the Lancers guild and the Twin Adders. Blithe, the youngest child, is a part of the Gridania based Minstrel group, The Homunculi.
While Talaani is a WoL in her own story, she does appear as merely an adventuring Red Mage and fellow freedom fighter for Gyr Abania in other people's stories. So in a way there's two versions of her: The one tied to the obligation of being a hero to the star and the other being a thrill-seeking wandering adventurer.
Easy Mode Hooks
Fellow Adventurer: Talaani always enjoys swapping stories and hearing tall tales from others to add to her repertoire.
Seeking Help: As an adventurer, she's no stranger to being hired for odd jobs, protection, etc. If you've got a job that promises to be at least entertaining or risky then she's your girl.
Looking for Fun(21+only): Talaani is a free spirit and if you catch her eye and she reciprocates your flirting, then a good time will be had by both. Just don't try and tie her down metaphorically. She has other lovers in her life that are her rock and support, but she's also a bit of a slut that knows exactly what she wants.
